Apple Cider Vinegar and Its 3000 Uses

Hello all, today I’ll be talking about the wonderful health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and I’ll even provide you with my very own recipe for an Apple Cider Vinegar bath.

Clean Up, Clean Up…Everybody, Everywhere!!!!

ACV has a multitude of cleaning applications, and with a pH of 5-6 its highly alkaline which means it can eat through most dirt and grime. All you have to do get a spray bottle from the dollar store, add equal parts ACV and water in it and you’re good to go. This works great over the entire house, especially the bathroom where bacteria THRIVES! If you don’t like the smell of ACV don’t worry, the smell will fade as it dries. This is amazing because that spray bottle can also double as an deodorizer. So whenever your house smells a lil’ funky you can always turn your fan on and spray a mist of ACV into the air.

Health Benefits of ACV Explored, What is “Snapback”?

Next we will explore the health benefits of ACV in its relation to pH balance. Our bodies pH balance is very vital to how healthy or sick we become. Keeping our bodies in an alkaline state will almost surely keep you healthy. Anything with a pH balance of 0 is HIGHLY acidic and anything with a pH balance of 14 is HIGHLY alkaline. Apple cider vinegar is the only type of vinegar thats alkaline forming once it enters our bodies. With that being said, one might ask, “Can I drink ACV since its so good for me?” The answer is NO, DO NOT DRINK APPLE CIDER VINEGAR RAW, it can/will damage the lining of your esophagus and stomach, which isn’t healthy at all. Instead, if you choose to do so, take a teaspoon of it and put it in a bottle of water or juice, you WILL taste the difference. Some sites will even tell you to put a teaspoon in Green Tea in order to increase your metabolism but I don’t even recommend that. I have tried the Green Tea X ACV mix and it made me feel uncomfortable and gassy for the majority of the day, I didn’t like that.

Instead I recommend taking a bath in ACV in order to make your pH more alkaline. Now I know most men are wondering, “Why would I want to take a vinegar bath, ain’t that for females?” Well the answer is historically “yes” but as I stated previously, keeping your pH alkaline will ward off disease and in some reports help manage/prevent prostate cancer though the results aren’t consistent across the board and more studies need to be carried out.

Nonetheless, here’s #FreedomOrDeaths ACV Bath Concoction:

DISCLAIMER: Before you try this understand how your body works, everyone is made up different so I will not be held responsible if there’s any malfunction

  • 1/2 bottle of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar (32 oz)
  • 1/2 cup of Organic Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 cup of Organic Lemon Juice
  • 6 Green Tea Bags, steeped
  • 2X2X2″ cube of African Black Soap

In order for you to really feel the effects of this mixture it must be concentrated, which means using 25-50% LESS water than you would normally. You will feel slightly dizzy when you go to stand up and this is because of the Apple Cider Vinegar though I’m not sure why. It will pass in about 5-10 minutes.

On a lighter note black women have been using vinegar or “Snapback” as Mike Epps so eloquently put it on Underrated and Never Faded, for years as a way to constrict the blood vessels in their vagina. The hilarious thing about this is that my first time hearing about this topic is from Mike Epps, which had a lasting impression on me. Not only does it tighten the vaginal lining but ACV carries anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which can restore a womans’ natural pH levels.

If you’ve never heard of the phenomenon that is “Snapback” peep the clip below and have a laugh!!!

Who I’m NOT Voting For

Hello beautiful people, its been a while since I’ve written anything simply because I’ve been focusing on what I have to do in my life. We all know its difficult to help others when you haven’t helped yourself. But since its election time with perhaps two of the most despised United States presidential candidates in history, I’ve decided to tell you who I’m not voting for.

Before I get too deep the first question that I pose to the reader is, “Are you voting out of fear or are you voting our of hope?”

I asked this question because we should keep in mind that these campaigns are typically based on playing off of individuals fears, rather than their hopes and aspirations. For example, Trump has a lot of right-wing power because he preaches that Mexicans are murderous and rapist so a wall would cut down on America’s overall murder and rape problem. Many individuals are surprised that hes galvanized such a following, but it only makes sense. The Republicans have been pissed off since before Obama’s inauguration as President of the United States and for the past eight years have had an egg on their faces, while at the same time making Obama’s presidency as difficult as they possibly could.

Lo and behold the anomaly known as Trump….

Trumps rhetoric is definitely reminiscent of the times before affirmative action and his support speaks volumes. Its a direct reflection of what a lot of white right wingers talk about at the dinner table with their families, which is utterly sickening to think about. But what the Republicans don’t like about Trump is that he’s too honest and that’s bad for big business.

Our next contestant is Hillary Clinton, known for whipping a bottle of hot-sauce or two out of her purse. She coined the term “super-predators” and suggested that these animals be brought to heel, particularly the darker skinned individuals. If one were to closely examine the history of the KKK you would discover that it came out of a radical group of bitter southern Democrats bent on making life living hell for black people. In 1964 Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act and with that the Democrats had won over the black vote in its entirety. It was actually the Republicans in the North who fought along side slaves in the Civil War, these are minor details to know and should put these parties in a different light.

One should also note that under the Clinton administration the 1994 Crime Bill was initiated. It implemented the three-strikes  mandatory life sentencing for repeat offenders and $9.6bn in funding for prisons. Yeah they say crime was down, thats because everybody was getting locked the hell up for life. It left black communities shattered, in shards, nearly lifeless. In the 22 years since the bill was passed, the federal prison population more than doubled. In 1994, the Bureau of Prisons held 95,162 inmates; today that number is 214,149. I don’t want another Clinton in office but, we’ve been duped time and time again. Lets be honest, neither party has nothing on paper thats for the uplift of black people. We should be doing for ourselves regardless. If you are voting for Hillary are you voting for the stanky-leg dancing, hot-sauce slanging version or the round ’em up, lock ’em up version. Pick your poison.

Not only that you have to research who’s endorsing these candidates but in Hillarys case she’s getting funded by George Sorors. September 16, 1992, is also known as, Black Wednesday, the day that George Soros broke the Bank of England. It has been reported that he made a $1 billion profit that day, which cemented his reputation as one of the greatest forex traders who has ever lived. He’s also been known to speak out against gun violence only to buy up the stock when its dirt cheap. This hypocrisy should be noted and we shouldn’t be fooled by neo-liberal fascist with right wing agendas. Its not in the best interest of the people.

Voting for a 3rd party candidate is the only viable option because at least if the party gets 5% of the vote it forces to open up the debates and breaks the bi-partisan system.

As voters we should be taking the time out of our day to actually examine what each candidate has to offer, not just vote out of tradition or worse than that, fear. Go to ballotready.com and check out the candidates for yourself before you vote cuz this ain’t yo mamas election.

Remember a vote for the lesser of two evils is still an EVIL

Chicago’s Filthy Secret…Drink Up!

The Disgusting Problem

In the wake of the Flint, Michigan water crisis Chicago has its own problems to deal with and the proof is in the water. Well, more so the LEAD in the water that comes from outdated pipes that costs millions of dollars to repair. The problem with lead poisoning, for those that don’t know, shows a direct relation to decreases in IQ, behavioral disorders and even juvenile delinquency.

“In an interview, Dr. Needleman emphasized: “I’m not saying that lead exposure is the cause of delinquency. It is a cause and one with the biggest handle to prevention.” He explained: “Lead is a brain poison that interferes with the ability to restrain impulses. It’s a life experience which gets into biology and increases a child’s risk for doing bad things.”

The New York Times, February 7, 1996

To make it hit home even harder the Chicago Tribune reported, “Mirroring a pattern that dates to at least 2003, most of the homes tested last year are concentrated on the city’s Far Northwest and Southwest sides — areas where cases of childhood lead poisoning are rare.” This was over 13 years ago and its plain to see that even then they knew how bad lead poisoning was so they covered it up.The data from the 2003 study may show that there were extremely low incidences of increased but that’s only because the people in that area have access to lead free water!

Good job Chicago!

The same article reported, “Most big cities, including New York and Boston, stopped using lead pipes during the 1940s and ’50s. Chicago’s plumbing code required lead service pipes until the day they were banned nationwide in 1986.”

Here’s an excerpt from the  Chicago Tribune:

“Banning lead in paint and phasing it out of gasoline has led to a steady decline in childhood lead poisoning. But a 2015 Tribune investigation revealed it remains a pernicious problem in the same poor, predominantly African-American neighborhoods on the West and South sides that have given Chicago a national reputation for violence and academic failure.”

The latter sentence is definitely offensive to my people and can I say it’s not true? No. But they forgot to mention the fact that lead poisoning at an early age contributes to an increase in aggressiveness and impulsive behavior not to mention an effort to maintain the myth of the super predator. It’s not that our people are savages or dumb the image of black people has been tainted by the media and we buy into it every time.

It’s important to take note that the areas with access to the cleanest water sources, are also the areas that receive the most TIF money:tif-moneys-600.jpgChicago Reader, 2016

The Solution

Obviously the overall solution would be to repair the pipes, but as a result taxes would have to go up if the city takes the bill. We should unify in arms just as Philadelphia did and file a class action lawsuit against the The City of Chicago and the Department of Water Management, since its been managed so poorly. >>>>> http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/jun/03/water-lead-testing-cheats-philadelphia-flint-crisis

In the short run what we CAN utilize methods of purifying water. One would be to apply a water filter onto every faucet in your residence, this should decrease your exposure to lead. Once your water is filtered you should alkalize it to regulate your pH. pH stands for “potential for hydrogen” and is important to our cellular growth. Keeping our bodies pH in an alkalized state is the first defense against disease since diseases thrive in acidic environment. Another option would to simply buy bottled alkaline water such as Essentia.

THERE’S NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT LEAD POISONING FROM BIRTH THROUGH ADULTHOOD CONTRIBUTES SIGNIFICANTLY TO AN INCREASE IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, NOT ONLY IN CHICAGO BUT NATIONWIDE. FURTHERMORE, WE MUST REMAIN COGNIZANT OF WHAT MAINSTREAM MEDIAS GOAL IS AND THAT IS TO DEMONIZE BLACK PEOPLE AS WELL AS OVER PUBLICIZE WHAT HAPPENS IN BLACK COMMUNITIES. INTRACOMMUNAL VIOLENCE IS PUBLICIZED MORE IN ORDER TO PUSH THE MYTH OF THE SUPER PREDATOR. WE’RE NOT SAVAGES THE SYSTEM IS SAVAGE FOR SPREADING CONFUSION AND MISINFORMATION!

In my opinion, it shows how the City of Chicago and the Department of Water Management has failed us and therefore be held responsible for their lackadaisical approach in distributing this pertinent information. When Los Angeles and New York changed their pipes in the 1940s and 50s Chicago should’ve followed suit. Chicago used lead pipes up until they were banned in the late 80s so it’s no wonder why we see exponential increases instances of violence in the Windy and nation wide. If any of this information disturbs you please call your local officials and Chicago’s Department of Water Management at (312) 744-4420.

FrankenFood: Genetically Modified Organisms

coe

Hello beautiful people! This post is to show you how to distinguish between GMO, hybrid and organic foods as well as illustrate the importance of READING labels before we buy our food. Below there is a list of the most genetically modified food. Attention to the small details is most definitely key, and what we put into our mouth is either hurting or helping our bodies.

GMO (Genetically Modified Organism)

To put it simply this is Not Real Food!!! GMOs are made in a lab by a scientist, the genetic material of the organism has been artificially manipulated by man to create something that doesn’t occur in nature, which means its unnatural. Long story short its molecular composition is unstable and ingesting these foods are comparable to eating cyanide! Over 60 countries around the world, including Australia, Japan as well as the European Union have visible restrictions or completely ban the production and sale of GMOs. Unfortunately GMOs are pretty common and are in 80% of the processed food we eat on a daily basis.  Peep the the stats.

CORN AND SUGAR BEETS ARE USED TO MAKE HIGH-FRUCTOSE SYRUP!!!!!!!!

how-roundup-ready-corn-is-made-monsanto-aspartame-agent-orange-gmo-frankenfood.jpg

High-Risk Crops (in commercial production; ingredients derived from these must be tested every time prior to use in Non-GMO Project Verified products (as of December 2011):

  • Alfalfa (first planting 2011)
  • Canola (approx. 90% of U.S. crop)
  • Corn (approx. 88% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Cotton (approx. 90% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Papaya (most of Hawaiian crop; approximately 988 acres)
  • Soy (approx. 94% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Sugar Beets (approx. 95% of U.S. crop in 2010)
  • Zucchini and Yellow Summer Squash (approx. 5,000 acres)

Now some of you may be wondering, “Well I’ve eaten corn all this time and I’m fine!” or maybe you’ve recently switched to soy milk and feel some type of way. But honestly speaking, there are better alternatives and though there haven’t been many studies conducted on GMOs there have been a number of incidences to assume they aren’t safe for consumption.

It used to be thought that plant scientist could simply swap out genes from different plants without effecting the surrounding genes, but the Human Genome Project proved that to be wrong. Genes work in a system just like our body, and if one system malfunctions in our body we get sick, we’re not in our normal state. The same is true for genetically modified organisms, those organisms are in an unnatural state and their molecular structure is incomplete. Some top health concerns can include leaky gut syndrome, the increase of allergic reactions and endocrine disruption.

Here’s how you tell the difference between organic, conventional and GMO. READ YOUR LABELS!!! Its important!

The 4th of YOU-LIED!

4670fd26448419.56355573aeeb7

Fire up the grill, get the kids and light the fireworks! On July 4th, 1776 the Second Continental Congress adopt the United States Declaration of Independence, after an 8 year battle with the Crown. Members of American colonial society rejected the authority of British Parliament to tax them without Colonial representatives in the government. This eventually evolved into the American Revolution, where white and black men fought side-by-side.

Lord_Dunmore's_Ethiopian_Regiment

Once the war was won America deemed itself a place where “all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their creator, with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” But what did that mean in relation to African-Americans?

Nothing, nada, zilch, cero…
The truth of the matter is that July 4th did nothing for African-Americans on a large-scale. The Loyalists (Britain) as well as the Patriots (America) promised slaves money, self-government, land, but most important of all, freedom. As the Revolutionary War spread Africans sided with whichever army promised them personal liberty. The British actively recruited slaves belonging to Patriots and consequently more  Africans wound up fighting for the crown.
The reality is that most slaves who fought for the rebels and the crown remained property of their masters, promises unfulfilled.

“Many thousands of African-Americans who aided the British lost their freedom anyway. Many of them ended up in slavery in the Caribbean. Others, when they attempted to leave with the British, in places like Charleston and Savannah, were prevented. And there are incredible letters written by southerners of Africans after the siege of Charleston, swimming out to boats, and the British hacking away at their arms with cutlasses to keep them from following them. So it was a very tragic situation. And of the many thousands of Africans who left the plantations, not many of them actually got their freedom.”

— Margaret Washington, historian, on the evacuation of Charleston

The feelings of discrimination and prejudice that was bred into this country’s fabric still lingers and it’s evident by how non-whites are treated by the law, especially those who are of African descent and of darker complexion.

It wouldn’t be until 1865 before we could even nibble on the idea of freedom…

JUNETEENTH

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of physical slavery in the United States. On June 19th 1865 Union Soldiers led by Major General Gordon Granger landed at Galveston, Texas to declare that the remaining slaves are free.

orders

Keep in mind that the Emancipation Proclamation was delivered by Abraham Lincoln on January 1st 1863, it was two and a half years before the final slaves were freed. This fact alone should show you just how much the Union cared about slaves. Here are some bullet points to keep in mind when thinking about Abraham Lincoln, the Emancipation Proclamation and its relation to slavery.

  • Lincoln wasn’t an abolitionist, though he did feel like it was morally wrong overall. But he was conflicted as to what should be done about it. An abolitionist knows exactly what should be done with slavery, and that would be to eradicate it and accept freedmen as equal members of society. True abolitionist also felt that the Constitution was comparable to trash because it justified the system of slavery to begin with, it held no weight in their eyes.
  • Lincoln didn’t think blacks should have the same rights as whites, even though some sources report he had African and Native American lineage. He believed in an All men created equal” just not politically so: “I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races,” he began, going on to say that he opposed blacks having the right to vote, to serve on juries, to hold office and to intermarry with whites.”

Lincoln believed that colonization was a great idea for Africans. He thought that the majority of Africans should settle back in Africa or in Central America. Ironically the African leaders of the time were angered with Lincolns proposal and argued that they were natives just as much as anyone else.f244b181591385cfbd9d1fc1abc07f59

  • Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation didn’t actually free ALL the slaves. The Proclamation was a military order, with that being said it didn’t apply to border states such as Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri, all of which had remained loyal to the Union. It was also allowed to continue in subdued Confederate states in hopes that the Union would gather inertia. In summary the Emancipation Proclamation only applied to where the Union had no control. By the war’s end approximately 200,000 African men had served in the Civil War.

Synopsis

Overall the 4th of YOU-LIE! is about exposing the truths regarding Independence Day, slavery, as well as challenging the cliché narratives coupled with American holidays. The lies within American culture are most definitely deep-rooted in hate, bigotry, emasculation and fear. America’s policies haven’t changed much over the years if you look at how they frame historical events through propaganda via the media.

  • How could I believe in Patriotism when the “patriots” of the American Revolution didn’t even consider my ancestors human?
  • How could I wear red, white and blue when it doesn’t represent my heritage or my identity?
  • How could I sing the star-spangled banner knowing that my people have been and still are confused about their godliness?
  • How could I celebrate the 4th of YOU-LIED knowing that my people were promised equality and human rights but were deceived?

These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself if you’re an African in America. So while you heat up those ribs and hotlinks think about this post and think about why YOU celebrate holidays….

Save a burger for me!

Ashé/Ase (ah-SHAY)

Ashe is a component of the African philosophical concept through which the Yoruba of Nigeria conceive the power to make whatever one says happen, produce change and  command authority. It can be used in a variety of contexts and in my opinion is comparable to the Chinese philosophy of ch’i/qi (chee).
Ashe is in every living and non-living thing, it is the life force that drives. Its important to point out that this is a force that is transmissible; conducted by material or symbolic meanings and can be accumulated.
In it’s spiritual context it means “so let it be/ may it be so”. Depending on what you believe Ashe can be used interchangeably with amen.

Silvestri: The Sneaky Salmon

On May 10th 2016 I was asked if I would like to voice my concern about a resolution proposed by Commissioner Silvestri, the Commissioner of the 9th District of Cook County . The major theme of the proposal was to change the position of Cook County Circuit Clerk from elected, to appointed. This would mean that the people wouldn’t have a say so in who they feel is the best person for the job, and only the Board of Commissioners would decide.

EP-710159938.jpg&updated=201010182154&MaxW=800&maxH=800&noborder

The problem with this is that 17 people, who all have salaries over $100,000, couldn’t possibly represent the people in an effective manner with the Peoples’ interest in mind. This simple fact was all of the ammunition I needed to attack these fascists, though there was more evidence to bring to light. The hearing for Mrs. Dorothy Brown was on the 11th so I was hard pressed to find more information to back up what I would say the following day.

Keep in mind that this “resolution” was brought to the table shortly after Mrs. Brown asked for a raise; the last time her position got a raise was 16 years ago, and this after the Democratic Party, chaired by Preckwinkle, endorsed Michelle Harris.  How can you expect a person to do better than the previous year when expenses go up each year, and you won’t give them the resources they need to function effectively?

dorbro1

When the resolution concerning Dorothy Brown came up, Silvestri saw all of those African faces in there, and decided to cut his losses. It was at least 30 Dorothy Brown supporters in there, and he definitely didn’t want us to turn up! Though this was just to shut us up collectively because they don’t want certain messages broadcast (the hearings are live), and they don’t want YOU to THINK for YOURSELF!!! Once they told us that we couldn’t speak, I left, but this is what I wrote:

Good morning,

My name is Quintin Martins representing B.R.O.T.H.E.R.S. Inc. and I’m here to voice my concern regarding Mr. Silvestri’s proposal. This proposal would change the Circuit Clerks position from elected to appointed which means that  we would have to rely on the 17 individuals on the board of commissioners to choose a clerk that’s in the interest of the people. That’s 17 votes out of the 1,171,349 votes for circuit clerk, which is not even half of a half of 1 percent. This, Mr. Silvestri, is an absolute spit in the face of democracy and the fact that this is even up for discussion is disgusting. Lets be clear about what this is really about, the powers that be became disappointed that Ms. Brown rightfully won her seat as Cook County Circuit Clerk. When she asked for a raise she was declined and is expected to perform better than she did the year before, even  though she has 9 times as many employees as her associates. Its obvious that their priority is to stifle Ms. Brown in any way, but shouldn’t their priority be to the people and not the pocket? Maybe if the democratic party was concerned with representing the people instead of splitting votes then maybe, just maybe she wouldn’t have won. I have my own proposal, let’s focus on an appointed position we would like to see on the ballot in the future and petition for that!
